Kontoret
Hösten 2008 fick vi det konstnärliga konstuppdraget att göra något i anslutning till upprustningen av allaktivitetshuset Möbeln. Budgeten var liten. Genom några enkla och tydligt visuella tillägg ville vi förändra intrycket av fasaden. Med konsten väcka frågor både om platsens historia och byggnadens nuvarande innehåll.
Vi har vistats i Tierp. Gått runt i köpingen och talat med människor. Vi har träffat några av dem som tidigare har arbetat i byggnaden och de som finns där nu. Vi gjorde också en undersökning av byggnaden tillsammans med en grupp studenter från Konstfack. Denna grupp gjorde också många intressanta förslag för Möbeln som vi fortfarande tror har ett liv om det skulle finnas intresse och ekonomiska förutsättningar för det. Tillsammans med studenterna gjorde vi en utställning som vi kallade Kontoret i det lilla konstrummet som låg i anslutning till biblioteket i Möbeln där deras arbeten presenterades tillsammans med några av våra.
The office
Fall 2008, we received the art commission to do something related to the restoration of the community center The Furniture. The budget was small. Through some simple and clear visual additions, we wanted to change the impression of the facade. Through art raise questions both about the history of the place and the building’s current contents.
We have stayed in Tierp. Walked around in town and talked to people. We have met some of those who have previously worked in the building and those who are there now. We also did a survey of the building with a group of students from the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. This group also made many interesting suggestions for The Furniture that we still think have a possible life if there was an interest and economic conditions for it. Together with the students we made an exhibition called The Office in the small space for art that was situated close to the public library in Möbeln where their work was presented along with some of ours.
